The two components of an ecosystem are:

1. Biotic or Living Components — These include all living organisms such as human beings, animals, birds, insects and plants. They are further divided into producers, consumers and decomposers.

2. Abiotic or Non-living Components — These include physical and chemical factors of the environment such as land, air, water, sunlight, rainfall, temperature, earth's atmosphere and gases. They include inorganic, organic and climatic components.
