Computer Applications
Answer
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard internet protocol. It is the simplest way to exchange files between the computers on the Internet. FTP works in the same way as HTTP works for transferring web pages from a server to a user's browser and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) which transfers email. FTP uses the Internet's TCP/IP protocols to enable the data transfer. It is commonly used to upload/download files to and from the servers over the Internet.
