28 - 3 × 8 ÷ 6

Answer

By using BODMAS, we will solve in this order : Bracket, of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.

28 - 3 × 8 ÷ 6

= 28 - 3 × 86\dfrac{8}{6}

= 28 - 246\dfrac{24}{6}

= 28 - 4

= 24

Hence, 28 - 3 × 8 ÷ 6 = 24

Question 2

Simplify:

[(4 × 2) - (4 ÷ 2)] + 8

Answer

By using BODMAS, we will solve in this order : Bracket, of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.

[(4 × 2) - (4 ÷ 2)] + 8

= [8 - 42\dfrac{4}{2}] + 8

= [8 - 2] + 8

= 6 + 8

= 14

Hence, [(4 × 2) - (4 ÷ 2)] + 8 = 14

Question 3

Simplify:

15 × 12 ÷ (5 - 2)

Answer

By using BODMAS, we will solve in this order : Bracket, of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.

15 × 12 ÷ (5 - 2)

= 15 × 12 ÷ 3

= 15 × 123\dfrac{12}{3}

= 15 × 4

= 60

Hence, 15 × 12 ÷ (5 - 2) = 60

Simplify:

32 + 48 ÷ 12 - 3 × 7

Answer

By using BODMAS, we will solve in this order : Bracket, of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.

32 + 48 ÷ 12 - 3 × 7

= 32 + 4812\dfrac{48}{12} - 3 × 7

= 32 + 4 - 21

= 36 - 21

= 15

Hence, 32 + 48 ÷ 12 - 3 × 7 = 15

Simplify:

16 - 4 of 5 ÷ 10 × 2

Answer

16 - 4 of 5 ÷ 10 × 2

= 16 - 20 ÷ 10 × 2

= 16 - 2010\dfrac{20}{10} × 2

= 16 - 2 × 2

= 16 - 4

= 12

Hence, 16 - 4 of 5 ÷ 10 × 2 = 12

24 of 36 ÷ 9 - 13 × 4

= 864 ÷ 9 - 13 × 4

= 8649\dfrac{864}{9} - 13 × 4

= 96 - 52

= 44

= 19 - [18 - 10]

= 11

= 17 - [14 - {40 + 2}]

= 17 - [14 - 42]

= 17 - (-28)

= 17 + 28

= 45

Hence, 17 - [14 - {40 + 8 ÷ (7 - 63\overline{6 - 3})}] = 45

= 25 - [12 - 14]

= 25 - (-2)

= 25 + 2

= 27

Hence, 25 - [12 - {5 + 18 ÷ (4 - 53\overline{5 - 3})}] = 27

Simplify:

15 - [16 - {12 + 21 ÷ (9 - 2)}]

= 14
