Answer

Given,

a5 = -3

d = -4

n = 10

We know that,

⇒ an = a + (n - 1)d

⇒ a5 = a + (5 - 1)(-4)

⇒ -3 = a + (4)(-4)

⇒ -3 = a - 16

⇒ a = 16 - 3

⇒ a = 13.

We know that,

⇒ Sn = n2\dfrac{n}{2} [2a + (n - 1)d]

⇒ S10 = 102\dfrac{10}{2} [2(13) + (10 - 1)(-4)]

= 5[26 + (9)(-4)]

= 5[26 - 36]

= 5(-10)

= -50.

Hence, option 1 is the correct option.
