A man weighs 600 N on earth. What would be his approximate weight on moon ? Give reason for your answer ?

As we know,

Weight (W) = mass (m) x acceleration due to gravity (g)

Given,

W_e = 600 N

W_m = ?

and

g_m = $\dfrac{1}{6}$ g_e

Hence, W_m = $\dfrac{1}{6}$ W_e

Substituting the values, we get,

W_m = $\dfrac{1}{6}$ x 600 = 100 N

Hence, weight of the man on the moon = 100 N.
