What was the attitude of the Early Nationalists towards the British?

The Early Nationalists were friendly towards the British. They adopted constitutional and peaceful means to achieve their aims. They were opposed to the use of force and violent methods, and were patient, moderate and conciliatory in their demands. They had full faith in the British sense of justice, fair play, honesty and integrity. They believed that British rule was a boon for India.
