Autonomous drones navigate using GPS (and onboard sensors) to know their position and direction. They avoid obstacles using sensors like cameras/LiDAR/ultrasonic sensors to detect nearby objects. The onboard computer then calculates a safe path (turns, rises, or slows down) to bypass the obstacle and continue to the destination.
