- Lack of powerful central authority led to weakening of the resistence offered to invasions.
- Internal feuds resulted in weak frontier policy.
- Lack of appropriate military strategy as compared to turks.
- Turks used horses and modern weapons.
- Turks were united and their army was motivated.
- The society was in grips of hatred, inequality, prejudices and untouchability.
- Indian kings had no spy system.
- Turks were attracted by the wealth of India. They, therefore, fought with full zeal.
