The Cripps Mission came to India on 22 March 1942.
Congress rejected the Cripps Mission because Gandhiji regarded its proposals as a 'post-dated cheque'. The Congress now wanted to settle for nothing less than 'Purna Swaraj' or 'Complete Independence'.
