Difference between hinge joint and gliding joint:

Hinge joint	Gliding joint
Hinge joint allows restricted movement in one plane only.	Gliding joint allows bones to glide over each other to a limited extent.
Example: Elbow, Knee	Example: Wrist bone, ankle bone
