⇒ (x + 1)(x - 3) + (x + 1)(x + 4)
⇒ (x + 1)[(x - 3) + (x + 4)]
⇒ (x + 1)(x - 3 + x + 4)
⇒ (x + 1)(2x + 1).
Hence, (x + 1)(x - 3) + (x + 1)(x + 4) = (x + 1)(2x + 1).
