Answer
Hot deserts have little cloud cover and scanty vegetation, allowing intense heating during the day and rapid loss of heat by terrestrial radiation at night. As a result, deserts have a high daily range of temperature. In contrast, forests moderate temperature through shade and transpiration, resulting in a lower range of temperature.
