The increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere leads to increase in global temperature as it traps heat. This phenomenon of increasing global temperature is called global warming. It can affect us in many ways as it leads to climate change, frequent forest fires, melting of polar ice caps and rise in sea level, etc. It can also lead to extinction of many species.
