Given,
an = 3n + 2
a1 = 3(1) + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5,
a2 = 3(2) + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8,
a3 = 3(3) + 2 = 9 + 2 = 11.
By formula,
Sum of A.P. =
Sum of first three terms =
= 3 × 8 = 24.
