Imagine that you are the village head. In that capacity suggest some activities that you think should be taken up under this Act that would also increase the income of people? Discuss.

As the village head, I’d recommend the following activities under the MGNREGA that can both generate income and contribute to community development:

1. Constructing check dams, ponds, and percolation tanks to conserve rainwater. Digging wells or rejuvenating existing ones to improve water availability.
2. Establishing community forests for sustainable wood and non-timber forest products and planting fruit-bearing trees, timber species, and medicinal plants.
3. Installing solar panels for electricity generation.
