- Formation of Landforms – Weathering, along with erosion, creates mountains, valleys, plateaus, and other landforms that provide varied habitats for different plants and animals.
- Support for Aquatic Life – Weathering supplies minerals and sediments to rivers and lakes, creating favourable conditions for aquatic organisms.
Thus, by forming soil, releasing nutrients, and creating diverse habitats, weathering plays a vital role in maintaining biodiversity on Earth.
