Given,
Probability of winning a particular game is 0.2
Since, winning and losing are complementary events.
∴ P(winning) + P(loosing) = 1
⇒ 0.2 + P(loosing) = 1
⇒ P(loosing) = 1 - 0.2 = 0.8
Let no. of matches lost be x.
Given,
Total matches played = 40.
⇒ P(loosing a match) =
⇒ 0.8 =
⇒ x = 0.8 × 40 = 32.
Hence, Option 3 is the correct option.
