During october to mid-march, the sun shines over the southern hemisphere. Central Asia, which is at a great distance from the sea, becomes extremely cold and temperature drops below freezing point. This leads to the development of a high pressure area there. Thus, the cold and dry winds blow outward from this region. As a result, most parts of Asia do not get rainfall during winter.
