By formula,
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)
⇒ 26 = 2(3 + b + b)
⇒ 26 = 2(3 + 2b)
⇒ 3 + 2b =
⇒ 3 + 2b = 13
⇒ 2b = 13 - 3
⇒ 2b = 10
⇒ b = = 5 m.
⇒ l = 3 + b = 3 + 5 = 8 m.
Area of rectangle = l × b
= 8 × 5 = 40 m2.
Hence, option 3 is the correct option.
