A room is 4 m long and 3 m 25 cm wide. How many square metres of carpet is needed to cover the floor of the room?

Breadth of the room = 3 m 25 cm = 3.25 m

Area of carpet needed = Area of the floor of the room

= length × breadth

= 4 × 3.25 sq. m

= 13 sq. m
