$\dfrac{x + 2}{9} = \dfrac{x + 4}{11}$

$\dfrac{x + 2}{9} = \dfrac{x + 4}{11}$

On cross multiplying, we get :

⇒ (x + 2) $\times$ 11 = (x + 4) $\times$ 9

⇒ 11x + 22 = 9x + 36

⇒ 11x - 9x = 36 - 22

⇒ 2x = 14

⇒ x = $\dfrac{14}{2}$

⇒ x = 7

Hence, the value of x is 7.
