(iii) we get, ⇒ 6a + 4(1) = 6 ⇒ 6a + 4 = 6 ⇒ 6a = 2 ⇒ a = ⇒ x + y = 3 ⇒ x = 3 - y. Putting above value of x in eq. (v) we get, ⇒ (3 - y) - y = 1 ⇒ 3 - 2y = 1 ⇒ 2y = 3 - 1 ⇒ 2y = 2 ⇒ y = 1. ⇒ x = 3 - y = 3 - 1 = 2. Hence, x = 2 and y = 1.
