Answer

Given,

3x + 4y = 10 ……(i)

2x - 2y = 2 …….(ii)

Multiplying eq. (ii) by 2 we get,

4x - 4y = 4 ……(iii)

Adding eq. (i) and (iii) we get,

⇒ 3x + 4y + 4x - 4y = 10 + 4

⇒ 7x = 14

⇒ x = 2.

Substituting value of x in eq. (ii) we get,

⇒ 2(2) - 2y = 2

⇒ 4 - 2y = 2

⇒ 2y = 4 - 2

⇒ 2y = 2

⇒ y = 1.

Hence, x = 2 and y = 1.
