Given,
3x + 4y = 10 ……(i)
2x - 2y = 2 …….(ii)
Multiplying eq. (ii) by 2 we get,
4x - 4y = 4 ……(iii)
Adding eq. (i) and (iii) we get,
⇒ 3x + 4y + 4x - 4y = 10 + 4
⇒ 7x = 14
⇒ x = 2.
Substituting value of x in eq. (ii) we get,
⇒ 2(2) - 2y = 2
⇒ 4 - 2y = 2
⇒ 2y = 4 - 2
⇒ 2y = 2
⇒ y = 1.
Hence, x = 2 and y = 1.
