Effects of ozone depletion:

- As a result, an increasing amount of ultraviolet radiation reaches the earth and causes damage to plant life, human beings and marine life.
- Skin cancer is caused and the incidence of cataract also increases as a result of ozone depletion in the atmosphere. The body is exposed to infectious diseases.
- Planktons, which are the very foundation of the vast oceanic food chain, are also killed.
