2x - y = 5 ……(i)
5x - y = 11 …..(ii)
Subtracting eq. (i) from (ii) we get,
⇒ 5x - y - (2x - y) = 11 - 5
⇒ 5x - y - 2x + y = 6
⇒ 3x = 6
⇒ x = 2.
Substituting value of x in eq. (i),
⇒ 2(2) - y = 5
⇒ 4 - y = 5
⇒ y = 4 - 5
⇒ y = -1.
Hence, Option 2 is the correct option.
