Volume of a cube = 729 cm3
Let a be the side of cube.
Volume of a cube = side3
⇒ a3 = 729 cm3
⇒ a = cm
⇒ a = 9 cm
Total surface area of a cube = 6a2
= 6 x 92 cm2
= 6 x 81 cm2
= 486 cm2
Hence, the total surface area of a cube is 486 cm2.
