What are the qualifications necessary to be a member of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha?

To become a member of Lok Sabha, a person must:

1. be a citizen of India.
2. be 25 years of age.
3. not hold any office of profit under the Government of India.
4. possess sound mental health.
5. not be a proclaimed criminal, insolvent or bankrupt.

To become a member of Rajya Sabha, a person must:

1. be a citizen of India.
2. be 30 years of age and above.
3. possess sound mental health.
4. not hold any office of profit under the Government of India.
5. not be a criminal or insolvent.
