Answer
The number to be subtracted = Remainder obtained on dividing 3x3 - 8x2 + 4x - 3 by x + 2.
x + 2 = 0 ⇒ x = -2.
Substituting x = -2 in 3x3 - 8x2 + 4x - 3 we get,
= 3(-2)3 - 8(-2)2 + 4(-2) - 3
= 3(-8) - 8(4) - 8 - 3
= -24 - 32 - 8 - 3
= -67.
Hence, no. to be subtracted = -67.
