The bluish-green colour of iron (II) sulphate solution changes to colourless when zinc is added to it, as zinc, being higher in the reactivity series than iron, displaces iron from the solution.

Zn (s) + FeSO4 (aq) ⟶ ZnSO4 (aq) + Fe (s)
