(a) The functions of the following parts of human female reproductive system are :

  1. Ovary : The ovaries produce female gametes (ova or eggs) and secrete female sex hormones like estrogen and progesterone.
  2. Fallopian tube : It receives the ovum released by the ovary and is the site where fertilisation of the egg by sperm usually occurs.
  3. Uterus : The fertilised egg implants in the uterine wall and develops into an embryo and it provides nourishment and protection to the developing foetus.

(b) Two contraceptive methods used by human males are :

  1. Use of condoms: A barrier method that prevents sperm from entering the female reproductive tract.
  2. Vasectomy: A surgical method in which the vas deferens are cut and tied to prevent the release of sperm during ejaculation.
