Using the formula: (a - b + c)2 = a2 + b2 + c2 - 2(ab + bc - ca)

⇒ (x - y + z)2 = x2 + y2 + z2 - 2(xy + yz - zx)

Substituting x - y + z = 5 and x2 + y2 + z2 = 49,

⇒ 52 = 49 - 2(xy + yz - xz)

⇒ 25 = 49 - 2(xy + yz - xz)

⇒ 2(xy + yz - xz) = 49 - 25

⇒ 2(xy + yz - xz) = 24

⇒ xy + yz - xz = 242\dfrac{24}{2}

⇒ xz - xy - yz = -12

Hence, the value of zx - xy - yz = -12.
