A boy buys an old bicycle for ₹ 162 and spends ₹ 18 on its repairs before selling the bicycle for ₹ 207. Find his gain or loss as percent.

C.P. of bicycle = ₹ 162
Amount spent on its repair = ₹ 18
Final C.P. = ₹ 162 + ₹ 18 = ₹ 180
S.P. of bicycle = ₹ 207
(∵ S.P. is greater than C.P., means bicycle is sold at a gain.)
Gain = S.P. - C.P.
= ₹ 207 - ₹ 180
= ₹ 27
Hence, bicycle is sold at a gain of 15%.
