A cell of potential difference 12V is connected to a bulb. The resistance of filament of bulb when it glows, is 24Ω. Find the current drawn from the cell.

I = ?

From Ohm's Law,

V = IR

Substituting the values in the formula, we get,

12=I×24I=1224I=0.5A12 = I \times 24 \\[0.5em] \Rightarrow I = \dfrac{12}{24} \\[0.5em] \Rightarrow I = 0.5 A

Hence, the current drawn from the cell = 0.5 A
