A vessel of capacity 600 cm3 contains hydrogen gas at a pressure of 330 cm Hg. What will be the pressure of hydrogen gas, when the vessel is connected to another vessel of 300 cm3 capacity ?

V1 = Initial volume of the gas = 600 cm3
P1 = Initial pressure of the gas = 330 cm Hg
V2 = Final volume = 600 + 300 = 900 cm3
P2 = Final pressure of the gas = ?
By Boyle's Law:
Substituting the values :
∴ Final pressure = 220 cm of Hg
