Given,
Equation : (x + 1)2 = 2(x - 3)
Solving above equation,
⇒ x2 + 1 + 2x = 2x - 6
⇒ x2 = 2x - 6 - 2x - 1
⇒ x2 = -7
⇒ x2 + 7 = 0.
The above equation is of the form ax2 + bx + c = 0.
Hence, the above equation is a quadratic equation.
