a = 1, b = -8 and c = 7.
We know that,
Discriminant (D) = b2 - 4ac = (-8)2 - 4 × (1) × (7)
= 64 - 28 = 36; which is positive, and a perfect square.
Hence, the roots are rational and unequal.
