⇒ x2 - 3x - 10 = 0
⇒ x2 - 5x + 2x - 10 = 0
⇒ x(x - 5) + 2(x - 5) = 0
⇒ (x + 2)(x - 5) = 0
⇒ x + 2 = 0 or x - 5 = 0
⇒ x = -2 or x = 5.
Hence, x = -2 or x = 5.
