Answer

I foresee the following advantages once this hydro-project is completed:

  1. Generates renewable and clean hydroelectric power with little air pollution.
  2. Provides a reliable supply of electricity for homes and industries.
  3. Stores water for irrigation, drinking, and flood control.
  4. Promotes regional development by creating employment and improving infrastructure.

I foresee the following disadvantages once this hydro-project is completed:

  1. Causes displacement of people and loss of livelihoods.
  2. Leads to the submergence of forests and fertile agricultural land.
  3. Disturbs river ecosystems and affects aquatic life. Reservoirs may lose storage capacity due to sedimentation.
  4. Large reservoirs may induce reservoir-triggered seismic activity (earthquakes) in some areas.
