Answer

Given, 6x2x1=1x2\dfrac{6}{x} - \dfrac{2}{x - 1} = \dfrac{1}{x - 2}.

On taking L.C.M.,

6(x1)2xx(x1)=1x2\Rightarrow \dfrac{6(x - 1) - 2x}{x(x - 1)} = \dfrac{1}{x - 2}

⇒ (x - 2)[6x - 6 - 2x] = x(x - 1)

⇒ (x - 2)(4x - 6) = x(x - 1)

⇒ 4x2 - 6x - 8x + 12 = x2 - x

⇒ 4x2 - x2 - 6x - 8x + x + 12 = 0

⇒ 3x2 - 13x + 12 = 0

⇒ 3x2 - 9x - 4x + 12 = 0

⇒ 3x(x - 3) - 4(x - 3) = 0

⇒ (3x - 4)(x - 3) = 0

⇒ 3x - 4 = 0 or x - 3 = 0

⇒ 3x = 4 or x = 3

⇒ x = 43\dfrac{4}{3} or x = 3.

Hence, roots of the given equations are 43\dfrac{4}{3}, 3.
