⇒ x(x - 12) + 2(x - 12) = 0
⇒ (x + 2)(x - 12) = 0
⇒ x + 2 = 0 or x - 12 = 0 [Using Zero-product rule]
⇒ x = -2 or x = 12.
Hence, x = -2 or x = 12.
