The lateral surface area of a cylinder is the area of its curved surface, excluding the top and bottom bases.
Lateral surface area = 2πrh square units.
Total surface area = 2πr(r + h) square units.
So, statement 2 is false.
∴ Statement 1 is true, and statement 2 is false.
Hence, option 3 is the correct option.
