Using compasses and ruler, construct a ΔABC in which AB = 6 cm, BC = 7 cm and AC = 5 cm. Draw a circle inside the triangle touching its sides.

Steps of construction :

  1. Draw BC = 7 cm.

  2. With B as centre, draw an arc of radius 6 cm.

  3. With C as the centre, draw an arc of radius 5 cm.

  4. Join AB and AC to form ΔABC.

  5. Construct the angle bisector BH and CI of ∠ABC and ∠ACB respectively.

  6. Let the two angle bisectors intersect at point P.

  7. Draw PD perpendicular to BC. With P as centre and PD as radius, draw a circle.
