(5a - 3b)2 - 16b2

= (5a - 3b)2 - (4b)2

Using the formula

[∵ (x2 - y2) = (x + y)(x - y)]

= ((5a - 3b) + 4b)((5a - 3b) - 4b)

= (5a - 3b + 4b)(5a - 3b - 4b)

= (5a + 1b)(5a - 7b)

Hence,(5a - 3b)2 - 16b2 = (5a + b)(5a - 7b)
