In ΔADC and ΔBAC,

⇒ ∠ADC = ∠BAC [Given]
⇒ ∠ACD = ∠ACB [Common]
∴ ∆ADC ~ ∆BAC [By AA]
Since, corresponding sides of similar triangles are proportional we have :
⇒
⇒ CA2 = CB x CD.
Hence, proved that CA2 = CB x CD.
