Answer

Given,

⇒ 6x2 - x - 2 = 0

⇒ 6x2 - 4x + 3x - 2 = 0

⇒ 2x(3x - 2) + 1(3x - 2) = 0

⇒ (2x + 1)(3x - 2) = 0

⇒ 2x + 1 = 0 or 3x - 2 = 0      [Using Zero-product rule]

⇒ 2x = -1 or 3x = 2

x=12x = -\dfrac{1}{2} or x = 23\dfrac{2}{3}.

Hence, 12,23-\dfrac{1}{2}, \dfrac{2}{3} are the solutions of equation 6x2 - x - 2 = 0.
