Answer

Given,

⇒ 2x2 - 9x + 10 = 0

⇒ 2x2 - 4x - 5x + 10 = 0

⇒ 2x(x - 2) - 5(x - 2) = 0

⇒ (2x - 5)(x - 2) = 0

⇒ 2x - 5 = 0 or x - 2 = 0      [Using Zero-product rule]

⇒ 2x = 5 or x = 2

⇒ x = 52\dfrac{5}{2} or x = 2.

(i) Since, x ∈ N

Hence, value of x = {2}.

(ii) Since, x ∈ Q

Hence, x = {2,52}\Big{2, \dfrac{5}{2}\Big}.
