(x - 5)(x + 3) = (x - 7)(x + 4)
⇒ x(x + 3) - 5(x + 3) = x(x + 4) - 7(x + 4)
⇒ x2 + 3x - 5x - 15 = x2 + 4x - 7x - 28
⇒ x2 - 2x - 15 = x2 - 3x - 28
⇒ x2 - x2 - 2x + 3x = - 28 + 15
⇒ 1x = - 13
Hence, the value of x is - 13.
