Answer

x2 + 6x + 9 - 4y2

Using the formula

[∵ (x + y)2 = x2 + y2 + 2xy]

= (x2 + 6x + 9) - 4y2

= (x + 3)2 - (2y)2

Using the formula

[∵ (x2 - y2) = (x + y)(x - y)]

= ((x + 3) + (2y))((x + 3) - (2y))

= (x + 3 + 2y)(x + 3 - 2y)

Hence,x2 + 6x + 9 - 4y2 = (x + 3 + 2y)(x + 3 - 2y)
