Answer

(a) In the catalytic oxidation of ammonia by Ostwald's process, the temperature should be 800° C and catalyst used is platinum.

4NH3+5O2800°CPt4NO+6H2O+Heat4\text{NH}3 + 5\text{O}2 \xrightarrow[800 \degree\text{C}]{\text{Pt}} 4\text{NO} + 6\text{H}_2\text{O} + \text{Heat}

(b) 4NO2 + 2H2O + O2 ⟶ 4HNO3
