= 4(a + b)[4(a + b) - 1]
= 4(a + b)[4a + 4b - 1]
= 4(a + b)(4a + 4b - 1).
Hence, 16(a + b)2 - 4a - 4b = 4(a + b)(4a + 4b - 1).
